Hello!!! Man, has it been a while. My sincerest apologies, I’ve been really busy. We just moved and are trying to get settled here.

Anyhoo, today’s entry is going to be about a certain television show. If you already know or have seen this show feel free to tell me by going to the contact section (down below). Let’s get started:

About a month ago I started watching this animated television show called Avatar: The Last Airbender, aka A:TLA or ATLA for short and OH MY GODS IS IT AMAZING. I love things that have to do with the 4 elements and the intro to this tv show is the four elements!!! I immediately knew I was going to like it. The crazy thing is, I actually looked at the trailer earlier in life when I was looking for something on Netflix to watch and didn’t think it looked that good.

Here’s what the introduction to the television explains:

"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace when the Avatar kept balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar mastered all four elements. Only he could stop the ruthless firebenders. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A hundred years have passed and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the War. Two years ago, my father and the men of my tribe journeyed to the Earth Kingdom to help fight against the Fire Nation, leaving me and my brother to look after our tribe. Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads, and that the cycle is broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that somehow, the Avatar will return to save the world."

Yeah, so basically that’s in the voice of Katara, one of the main characters, the only water bender of her tribe. A “bender” is a person who can control an element. I won’t give away tooooo much but let me give you this:

Some main things you want to know about the show:

1. There have been a lot of debates of whether this show is anime but the art style is different than most animes.

2. IT IS HILARIOUS, okay?! It is SO funny. And despite the hilarious comments, faces the characters make, it deals with tough and sad subjects. For example, this is happening during a War where one Nation wants complete power.  Or rather, one king wants all power. Not giving away any spoilers!!! Another tough subject is death and loss.

3. The characters will win your heart. The characters all have destinct personalities and are just so great. Really. It’s awesome.

4. The plot is fantastic!!!! Three kids (and in season 2 four kids and in season 3 five kids) Go on an amazing adventure to teach the Avatar the four elements and stop the war before the fire nation tears the world apart. Aaah, it's so good!!!!

5. It’s great for adults too! After crying for one hour when I finished the second-to-last episode of the entire show (hey, that episode was so sad!!!) I practically forced my dad to watch the episode with me (so I watched it again and cried even more) and I was sure he would be able to understand because I talk about the show a lot (a lot a lot. A huge, humongous lot) and he did! Dad liked it! A lot of adults like it, actually. It’s captivating and just really just amazing!!

6. There are 23 books that take place after the tv show is over AND there’s another tv show called The Legend Of Korra (aka TLOK or LOK for short) about the new avatar (a teenager named Korra). I haven’t seen it yet but many people like it.
